Valencia and Sevilla to monitor Manchester United forward Anthony Martial in coming months
Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is a target for Valencia and Sevilla. The two La Liga clubs are set to keep an eye on the 26-year-old in the coming months, according to Todofichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Martial signed for the Red Devils in 2015 from AS Monaco. The French centre-forwards current contract at the Old Trafford side runs until 2024. However, the Manchester-based club do have an option to extend it for a further season.
Since signing for United from the Ligue 1 outfit, Martial has failed to convince fans due to his inconsistency. The 26-year-old has blown hot and cold over the years in Manchester.
Martial’s best season at United came in the 2019/20 season. However, the French forward has failed to build on his performances in a red shirt over time.
Subsequently, Martial has found himself going down the pecking order at United in recent years. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not seem to fancy the number nine.
In the previous campaign, Martial did not feature much. The French national started two games in the Premier League before deciding to leave the club on loan in January.
However, Martial did not have the best of spells outside Manchester either. The 26-year-old had joined Sevilla on a short loan deal. However, in 12 appearances for the Spanish outfit in all competitions, the French forward scored one goal and provided one assist.
Martial returned to United after the end of last season. And after an impressive pre-season, the number nine seems to have gotten his confidence back.

Unfortunately, Martial has not been able to showcase his qualities consistently, having been sidelined for the majority of the campaign. However, in the matches the Frenchman has played in, i.e. Arsenal and Manchester City, he has made an impact.
Hopefully, Martial can get back to full fitness and show the fans what he can do week in, week out. Whether the 26-year-old decides to leave once again in the future to join a La Liga outfit remains to be seen.
