“How many times” – Some fans react as former Man United target stars on his debut for new club

Twitter reacts as Jude Bellingham stars for Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United fans were given a glimpse of what could have been as Jude Bellingham made his debut in a Borussia Dortmund jersey.

The young Englishman was subject to heavy interest from United. He came close to a move to Old Trafford after being shown around United’s Carrington training ground. He even met club legends Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona.

Ultimately, he chose to join Dortmund over us. The deal worth £25million made him the most expensive 17-year-old in the history of the game.

Facing off against Austrian side Rheindorf Altach, Bellingham took just 14 minutes to make his mark. His intense pressing helped Dortmund win the ball back for their first of the night.

He capped off his debut with a wonderful backheel pass to prolific striking sensation Erling Braut Haaland. The Norwegian was left impressed by his new teammate’s skills and applauded Bellingham’s efforts.

The same can be said for United fans, who would have watched the youngster shine with their teeth clenched.

United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho also appears to have hit a roadblock. Dortmund are adamant that the player will now stay put in Germany.

If he keeps it, losing out on Bellingham will soon be considered as much of a miss as that of Sancho.
