Tottenham and Harry Kane waiting for Manchester United offer

According to transfer news from Eurosport, Tottenham and Harry Kane are waiting for Manchester United to make an offer. Spurs are hoping United will enter the battle for Kane alongside City and get a bidding war underway.

The 27-year-old Kane has been a consistent performer for Spurs as well as England over the years, racking up goals and assists at a rapid rate. However, his individual brilliance has failed to land him a single major trophy so far at North London.

Kane has apparently spoken about his desire to join a club that can contend for major trophies. That led to both Manchester clubs registering an interest in the star striker. Last season, he managed to pick up both awards for the highest goalscorer and assist provider, highlighting his tremendous abilities.

City have looked the favourites to win the race for Kane so far. However, they are baulking at the £160million that Spurs are asking for. City are looking to wait because of that and see if the price goes down. Tottenham, on the other hand, are hoping that United enter the fray and drive up the competition and price for Kane.

It’s unlikely that United get drawn into a transfer battle for Kane. The club already have Cavani for another season and more options such as Martial and Greenwood. While it leaves City free to go after him, United can do nothing in this regard.
