The former Real Madrid and Juventus man made his return to the Theatre of Dreams official today as the club released a statement confirming the 36-year-old’s signing. 

Ronaldo made his first move to United back in 2003 when he was scouted by Sir Alex Ferguson. The Portuguese scored a staggering 118 goals in 292 appearances for the Red Devils in his six-year stint with the club.

Moreover, the 36-year-old won three Premier League titles and 1 Champions League at the club before he decided to pack his bags for Real Madrid. However, he has now completed his return back to the club, and he confirmed it on his official Instagram handle a few minutes after United announced his signing. 

The Portuguese maverick was congratulated by several fans & celebrities, but he also received a very special message from one of the greats in the game – Brazilian legend Pele. The five-time World Cup winner wrote in the comment below Ronaldo’s post (h/t Manchester Evening News):

“There is no better feeling than conquering the world and returning home. Always be happy, Cristiano.”

Pele is seemingly pleased with the fact that the 36-year-old has come back to the club that gave him the platform to perform on the world stage.

United fans will, however, have to wait until they see the club legend don the famous red jersey again as the Portuguese is away on international duty. The superstar forward could be available for selection when the Red Devils face Newcastle United on the 11th of August.
