Manchester United ace Paul Pogba hailed by Didier Deschamps after proving crucial in lifting UEFA Nations League trophy
Speaking to Eurosport (h/t Manchester Evening News), France national team boss Didier Deschamps has pointed out what has changed in Manchester United Paul Pogba in recent times.
The 28-year-old ace has been sublime for the Red Devils in the last two months, something showcased by his four assists against Leeds United on the opening day of the season. However, Pogba has brought along the good form with him on international duty.
Les Bleus faced two daunting tests in the UEFA Nations League as they had to play Belgium in the semi-final and Spain in the final. France made a come-back in both games, and the United ace was at the helm of things as he was constantly dictating play.
His performances have now been hailed by his national team boss Didier Deschamps, who also pointed out a change in the midfielder’s demeanor in recent times. Deschamps told Eurosport (h/t Manchester Evening News):
“He (Pogba) has grown in importance compared to his beginnings. He is an expressive leader who sits between the generations. He has this collective reflection.”
An inspiring performance in the final meant that the European Championship is the only trophy the French international is yet to win on the national stage– a competition where they were knocked out by Switzerland in the Round of 16 earlier this summer.

However, for Pogba, the main focus would be on keeping up the good form, especially since the Old Trafford outfit have a heavy fixture schedule, starting this weekend against Leicester City.
With less than 12 months left on his current contract, the Frenchman is proving his worth to everybody, but there is no certainty on where he will play his football next season.
