Manchester United target Theo Hernandez is being valued at £50 million by AC Milan in the ongoing transfer window, according to Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Red Devils are interested in acquiring the left-back’s services this summer. However, Manchester City are also monitoring the France international’s situation at the San Siro side.

In February, the defender signed a new three-year contract at the Rossoneri. But with the recent departure of Paolo Maldini as the club’s director, there is speculation around the 25-year-old’s future at the Italian outfit.

Apart from the two Manchester rivals, teams in La Liga also have Hernandez on their radar. The full-back previously spent time at the likes of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid before moving to Milan.

At the San Siro side, the French national has caught a lot of people’s attention and has revived his career. He has been a pivotal player for the Rossoneri over the years and the 25-year-old has showcased his talent both in attack and in defence.

In the 2020/21 season, the defender was key to Stefano Pioli’s plans as the Serie A giants lifted the Scudetto after an 11-year drought.

United have relied on Luke Shaw as their first-choice left-back under Erik ten Hag. In the summer of 2022, we also signed Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord. The Holland national was a bit-part player for the Red Devils in his debut campaign.

The former Southampton star has been ever-present in the gaffer’s plans. In the last few months, the England international has put in some impressive displays to cement his place in the starting lineup.

As things stand, the Old Trafford side have decent options on the right-hand side of the defence. Therefore, it would be wise for us to prioritise strengthening other areas before spending a considerable amount on Hernandez.
